The set of Führich’s Elements refers to his monumental realizations, although so far it has not been linked to any particular one. In the 1890s, Führich became a distinctive figure painter, focusing on large-scale personifications of the elements, possibly in relation to his monumental decorative work and commissions in this area. The theme of the elements, an artistic tradition, allowed him to relate to the tradition of official decorative painting, which he sought to link to contemporary painting. The exhibition introduces the gallery collection’s set of drawings, which were restored in 2019 with funding from the Ministry of Culture.
